General terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Virelin's course content, learning platform and related services. By using Virelin you accept these terms. Virelin provides educational materials and tools focused on digital literacy and IT security awareness. Use of the services is subject to applicable laws and these terms.
1Eligibility
To use Virelin services you must have full capacity to enter into binding agreements under applicable law and comply with these terms. Certain training modules may require that you be employed or enrolled in an organization preparing staff for digital literacy or security responsibilities.
Users must be at least 16 years old to register as individual learners. If you are under 16, access must be arranged through a parent, guardian or authorized organization in compliance with applicable protections for minors.
You must use Virelin's services lawfully and in accordance with these terms. Prohibited uses include impersonation, distribution of malware, phishing, attempts to bypass security controls, and any conduct that violates applicable laws.
Virelin operates primarily from Singapore and is intended for users in Singapore and other permitted jurisdictions. Access from locations where the services are illegal or restricted is not allowed and Virelin reserves the right to limit access where required by law.
2Accounts and access
Accounts enable access to courses, progress tracking and supplemental materials. Accurate account information helps maintain security and appropriate access to course resources.
You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when creating or updating your account. Virelin may verify information as necessary to provide services and maintain platform integrity.
Keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and must notify Virelin promptly of any unauthorized use. Virelin will take reasonable steps to secure account data but cannot ensure absolute security.
Accounts are personal and non-transferable unless Virelin agrees otherwise in writing. Sharing login credentials is discouraged and may lead to suspension of access.
If you suspect your account has been compromised, notify Virelin immediately via the contact details provided. Prompt notification helps reduce potential misuse and enables Virelin to take appropriate remediation steps.
Virelin may suspend or restrict account access for suspected breaches of these terms, security incidents or legal requirements. Suspension may be temporary while an contribute is conducted.
3Services provided
Virelin offers structured courses and learning materials focused on foundational digital literacy and IT security awareness topics such as password hygiene, phishing recognition, safe browsing, device security and basic incident reporting. Content is educational and intended to support improved security practices.
Course content, schedules, features and pricing may be updated from time to time. Virelin will post notices of material changes and provide details about how changes affect enrolled learners when feasible.
Access to online materials depends on internet connectivity and third-party infrastructure. Occasional downtime, maintenance windows and interruptions may occur. Virelin will make reasonable efforts to maintain availability but does not warrant uninterrupted service.
4User rules and acceptable use
When using Virelin, you must comply with the following rules to maintain a safe and constructive learning environment:
- Use the platform for lawful, authorized training and research related to digital literacy and IT security awareness.
- Do not attempt to access restricted systems, exploit vulnerabilities in the platform, or submit malware under the guise of testing.
- Respect intellectual property and attribution requirements for course materials and third-party content.
- Do not share account credentials or allow unauthorised third parties to use your account.
- Avoid abusive, harassing or discriminatory communications with instructors, staff, or other learners.
- Do not use Virelin resources to perform phishing, social engineering or other attacks against third parties.
- Follow any specific rules posted for particular courses, labs or assessments.
5User content and contributions
Users may be able to submit questions, comments, assignments or forum posts ('User Content'). User Content should comply with these terms and applicable law.
You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to the rights you grant Virelin to host and distribute that content as part of the services.
By posting User Content you grant Virelin a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify and display the content as needed to provide the services and promote course offerings.
You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of User Content you post. Do not post personal data of others without consent or content that infringes third-party rights.
Virelin may remove or disable access to User Content that violates these terms, is unlawful, or poses a security risk. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.
6Intellectual property
Virelin and its licensors retain all intellectual property rights in course content, software, logos and documentation. Users must not copy or distribute proprietary materials except as expressly permitted.
- Do not reproduce or distribute Virelin course materials except for personal learning or where a license is granted.
- Do not use Virelin activity or logos without prior written permission.
- Do not attempt to remove or obscure copyright, activity or other proprietary notices from materials.
7Paid services and subscriptions
Some Virelin courses, certifications or advanced learning modules may require payment. Paid services are subject to these additional terms and any specific plan terms provided at purchase.
Fees for paid services will be presented at the time of purchase. Prices are stated in the currency indicated and exclude such taxes as required by law unless otherwise stated.
Payments are processed using third-party payment processors. By submitting payment information you authorize charges for the selected services. Virelin does not store full payment card details.
Subscription services renew automatically unless cancelled prior to the renewal date. Cancellation instructions are provided in account settings and at the time of purchase.
Refunds, if available, are handled in accordance with the specific refund policy provided at the time of purchase. Virelin will evaluate refund requests on a case-by-case basis and provide remedies where appropriate under applicable law.
You may cancel paid subscriptions in accordance with the cancellation procedures in your account. Cancellation does not necessarily entitle you to a refund for the current billing period unless stated otherwise.
Users are responsible for any taxes associated with purchases. Virelin will apply tax where required by law and display the amount during checkout when applicable.
Virelin may change fees for services. Existing subscribers will be notified of price changes in advance where required by applicable law or the subscription terms.
Failure to pay for subscribed services may result in suspension of access until payment is received and processed.
8Disclaimer
Educational content provided by Virelin is offered for informational and training purposes only. Materials are not professional, legal or forensic advice. Course exercises that simulate security incidents are for learning; do not attempt to reproduce harmful actions on real systems or networks.
9Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Virelin's liability arising out of or in connection with use of the services is limited to direct damages up to the amount paid by you for the relevant service in the preceding 12 months. Virelin is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages to the extent allowed by law.
10Third-party services
Virelin may integrate with third-party tools and content providers. Your use of such third-party services may be subject to separate terms and Virelin is not responsible for third-party performance or compliance.
11Termination and suspension
Virelin may suspend or terminate access for breaches of these terms, unlawful activity or security concerns. Termination may remove access to course content and account data in accordance with retention policies.
Upon termination, license rights granted to you end and Virelin may delete or archive account data after applicable retention periods. Some provisions of these terms, including limitations of liability and dispute resolution, survive termination.
12Privacy and data protection
Virelin processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy describes how data is collected, used, shared and retained. Users should review the privacy notice for details on rights and data subject requests.
13Communications
Virelin may communicate with you by email, platform notifications or other means for account administration, course updates and security advisories. By providing contact details you consent to receiving such communications.
14Changes to terms
Virelin may update these terms. Material changes will be posted online with a revised effective date. Continued use of the services after posting indicates acceptance of updated terms.
15Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms will be resolved under Singapore law.
16Dispute resolution
If a dispute arises, parties should first try to resolve it informally. If unresolved, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts unless otherwise agreed in writing.
